Guest Editorial: Aerial Computing: Drones for Multi-Access Edge Computing

نویسندگان

چکیده

The employment of multi-access edge computing (MEC) promotes the emergence novel computation-intensive and time-sensitive applications at network edge. Resource-limited devices can offload their tasks to servers, thereby avoiding heavy loads reducing energy consumption. However, servers are usually embedded in fixed access points (APs) or base stations (BSs) traditional MEC, which make it difficult meet unexpected explosively increasing demands server users certain emergency scenarios. Due mobility, flexibility, maneuverability, aerial has drawn extensive attention, where unmanned vehicles (UAVs) equipped with provide agile services mobile devices. Despite potential computing, however, many challenges also need be addressed this new paradigm. Until now, limited research progress been made toward computing.
